Gurung Chirring

Chhirring D. Gurung enjoys photographing spontaneous moments from his daily life. He uses the medium to take hold of fleeting moments and find interesting nuances in them. He initially gravitated towards painting and drawing, practising thangka for several years before moving into the carpet industry. He worked as a quality controller in the carpet industry from 1988 until 2010 wherein he made carpet designs and checked for the faithful weaving of these designs. After 2010, he explored other interests in arts by working on several projects in videography and photography. This led him to travel frequently, wherein he documented his travels through photography. He merged his interest in photography and travel by starting his travel agency ‘Snow Lion Experiences’ in 2014. His work allows him to revisit the interesting culture he has grown up in while introducing it to new audiences.
